This turned out quite well this year, except for the fact a miscreant stole content from over 900 of my posts. Google could not help, they would have, if I had sent them 900 documented infractions! notices. Things should change at Google!

I think I did pretty well this year. Total number of posts have exceeded over 1000 plus, this year contributing over 200. The syndicated views have been over a million or so. But it has taken a number of years and lot of work.

The blog is more technical than political. Political or social events did appear in the blog when the issues touched my personal beliefs. The blog is somewhat slanted towards Microsoft technologies and I do hope I will move away to more Open Source and try to follow the Internet of Things and AI.

I take this opportunity to wish one and all a very Happy New Year.

2014 - mixed year

2014 was a mixed year. I lost my brother Dr. Vijaya Raghavan Krishnaswamy, a neuro-surgeon by profession. He left a void that cannot be filled.

I did not complete the book I was writing.

Regarding the blogs I did quite well with a record number of posts.

I started a new blog in 2014- http://hodentekPlus.blogspot.com.

I also found that a certain person was pilfering (http://hodentek.blogspot.in/2014/12/domain-name-service-dns-and-dns-changer.html) entire content from blog, my hardwork of about 10 years. I complained to Google without any success. I suppose this is not on Google's priority. Google wants every post that is stolen with proof of content stolen. There were over 900 posts in my blog and you can imagine the work involved.

Backup/Restore older versions of SQL Server to Windows Azure Cloud

SQL Server 2012 supported backing up database to Windows Azure . Of course higher versions will also be capable and in fact SQL Server 2014 will also do so more easily. What if you wanted to backup your SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008R2 to the Cloud. Well, a new 3 step tool released by Microsoft can do it, no problem (it appears). The tool supports backup compression and encryption to boot.
