Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has Okayed the anti-covid drug [ 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG)] developed by DRDO for emergency use.
What does it do?
Reduced hospital stay dependency and lowered oxygen requirement leading to faster recovery.
Who makes them?
"2-DG has been developed by INMAS, a lab of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Hyderabad."
