Connected Cars, IOT and AT & T

Connected cars; connected homes; connected devices has become the prime mantra of IoT which is going to make a world of difference in our lives.

I suppose connected cars will come first followed by driver-less cars, but for this auto nation of ours this is going to be big business and all vendors/carrier companies will be fighting for their share.

AT&T being a carrier is of course interested like all others in getting into action and they were the first movers to set up a Drive Studio to evaluate all aspects of the connected car experience.

But AT&T being a carrier is poised to participate in a big way in the IoT. They have lined up most of the important elements:

Get out of your mobile carrier contracts

I cannot but echo the sentiments of John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile when he said,

"Carriers have counted on staggered contract end dates and hefty early termination fees to keep people bound to them forever. But now families can switch to T-Mobile without paying a single red cent to leave them behind".
